England head into this evening’s crunch game against Italy at Wembley knowing they are just one win away from securing their spot at Euro 2024.
In fact, Gareth Southgate’s side will qualify with a draw if Ukraine fail to beat Malta later tonight.
The Three Lions have enjoyed an almost perfect Group C qualifying campaign so far, with last month’s 1-1 draw with Ukraine the only blemish on their record.
The first of their four wins to date came against the Azzurri in Naples back in March, and Italy will be keen to avenge that result with the European champions sat three points behind, alongside Ukraine.
So, with Euro 2024 within touching distance for England, let’s take a look at when the group stage draw will take place, which teams have already qualified and how the pots will work.
When is the Euro 2024 draw?
The group stage draw for Euro 2024 will take place on Saturday, December 2.
The draw will start at 5pm GMT and will be held in Hamburg, Germany.
How to watch the Euro 2024 draw
The draw will be streamed live on the UEFA website, YouTube channel and the official UEFA EURO 2024 app.
A full list of TV broadcasters will be announced in due course.
Which teams have already qualified?
Germany, as hosts, have qualified automatically for Euro 2024.
Seven more teams have already qualified, including Steve Clarke’s Scotland, with 13 further nations to join them by the end of the qualifying stage in November.
The remaining three spots will be determined via the play-offs in March 2024.
The play-offs, consisting of the twelve best performing teams from the 2022/23 Nations League who didn’t qualify for Euro 2024, will feature six semi-finals and three finals.
Qualified teams for Euro 2024
- Germany
- Belgium
- France
- Portugal
- Spain
- Scotland
- Turkey
- Austria
How will the Euro 2024 draw work?
The 24 teams will be divided into six pots of four.
Sides will be placed into one of the six pots based on their results in qualifying, with the exception of Germany, who have been automatically allocated to Group A as the host nation.
The top two teams from each group at Euro 2024 will qualify for the Round of 16.
