An email hints that more information about GTA 6 might be right around the corner, as the first trailer is set for early December.
Rockstar has already announced that fans will get a first, proper look at Grand Theft Auto 6 when the game’s teaser trailer debuts in early December.
Since then, there’s been much speculation as to whether the game will come out in 2024 or, as one report suggests, as far away as 2025.
But if a recently leaked email is anything other than a hoax it may be that the trailer, and the game itself, will arrive sooner rather than later.
A Twitter user named Nima, who claims to be a Quality Assurance tester at Capcom USA (Capcom has helped publish GTA games in Japan in the past), posted the screenshot with the subject line: ‘[Important] Unveiling the Next Chapter.’
The email, from sender RSGNYC PR, then continues: ‘Greetings, after years of anticipation, the time has come to pull back t…’.
At a guess, it seems the full sentence is probably: ‘The time has come to pull back the curtain,’ implying an announcement about the game or maybe the release of the trailer.
It could be anything in between, or a complete hoax, but one guess as to when and where Rockstar might reveal the trailer is at The Game Awards on December 8 (starting at 1am GMT time).
But Rockstar could also release the trailer in the week leading up to The Game Awards, as the game is so big it wouldn’t need much help marketing itself, and Rockstar only ever said ‘early’ December.
Nima also alludes to sitting on more information, including ‘some details and dates,’ but they won’t say what it is.
It’s unclear if Nima is the recipient of the email, and the one who cropped the screenshot, but if they are in fact a QA tester at Capcom it wouldn’t be impossible for them to receive information about the game’s development and announcement.
