Matt Le Tissier says his ‘stomach turned’ when he saw a photograph of David Beckham with Bill Gates, so riled that he decided to have a pop at Becks’ footballing ability as well.

The Southampton legend has plenty of strong opinions and he is not afraid of voicing them, with Gates up there with the World Economic Forum on his list of things he hates.

Seeing the billionaire alongside his fellow former England star was sicking for Le Tiss and he made it clear what he feels about Beckham on the pitch as well.

Speaking on the Conversations with David Cotterill podcast, the 55-year-old said: ‘My stomach turned when I saw that picture of David Beckham with Bill Gates.

‘I mean, seriously, why? You were a good footballer, David, you weren’t great. You weren’t world-class. You were a very, very good footballer at what you did, you were very good.

‘Why are you getting involved with that bloke for? Do you have any idea what crimes he’s committed?’

He added: ‘I think it’s all part and parcel of that circle of people at that level.’

Beckham posted the picture with the Microsoft co-founder in December last year, with a caption which read: ‘A real honour to meet with the @gatesfoundation and some inspiring people behind life-saving innovations and projects that are changing young lives for the better @thisisbillgates.’

Le Tissier claims that he discovered a number of suspicious things surrounding Gates because he had a bit of spare time in lockdown, had a quick look online and suddenly he was through the looking glass.

He told the AJ Roberts show last year: ‘We got locked down, you had a lot of time in your house with nothing to do. So I just thought I’d have a look around and investigate what was going on and the people involved in the pandemic.

‘Suddenly all these people came out the woodwork you’d never heard of before – Anthony Fauci, people like that.

‘Bill Gates had been around for a long time, I’d heard stuff and not taken much notice. I heard the rumours about Bill Gates, so thought I’d go on the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation website and have a look around.

‘I was amazed to find that all these people that were involved in the pandemic – the WHO and all that stuff – were beneficiaries of money from this foundation.

‘In my mind I’ve always been a bit sceptical of people in power and corruption, and I thought it was too much of a coincidence.

‘It led me onto the World Economic Forum and what they stood for, what they were trying to do. There are too many coincidences for this not to be something a little bit below the belt here, there’s something going on here that’s not quite right.’
