Former President Donald Trump has been spotted using a new accessory while delivering speeches that sparked an outburst of speculation on social media.

A picture of Trump speaking to cameras at his Mar-a-Lago home showed him standing on two black ‘toe pads’.

‘What is Trump standing on here? How often does he use these?’ wrote an X (formerly Twitter) user who shared the image on Friday.

‘Are these toe pads to prevent Trump leaning forward in his videos?’ the user asked in another post.

The picture has since ignited a debate on why Trump used the objects at the front of his feet.

An X user wrote that Trump’s forward lean is a sign that he suffers from frontotemporal dementia, a brain disease with symptoms that can include poor coordination and muscle weakness.

‘Some have thought he was in early stages when he ran in 2016,’ wrote the user. ‘MAGA candidates relax: it progresses slowly.’

Another user claimed that Trump uses toe pads to counter balance using three-inch lifts on the heels of his shoes ‘since he can no longer hold his own weight’.

An X user called Trump ‘hypocritical’ for making fun of fellow 2024 Republican candidate Ron DeSantis in November for apparently wearing heeled boots during a campaign rally.

‘The best part is how Hypocritical it is of Trump to be trying to make fun of DeSantis with his Lifts in his boots, knowing that there are people knowing he uses stabilization pads!’ wrote the user.

‘It’s probably cuz of all the McDonalds he (eats) made his belly so big he’s now top heavy and the belly leans him forward!’ the user added.

Another user asked, ‘trump toe pads, desantis’ heels – does the Republican Party have a foot fetish?’

Trump as of Monday afternoon had not addressed the talk of his toe pads on social media.

Early on Christmas Day, he shared a compilation of videos from his previous addresses on the the holiday while president, with then-First Lady Melania Trump at his side. It ended with an advertisement for his 2024 campaign.

He also went on a rant attacking his political enemies.

‘It’s hard to have a truly great Christmas when you have a Crooked and Incompetent President who wants to put his Political Opponent in jail, and who has been working hard (for a change!), illegally using all of the levers of Law Enforcement, to do so,’ Trump wrote in another Truth Social post.

‘We are in the fight of our lives to save our Country from MADNESS & DOOM. MAGA 2024!!!’
