Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Friday’s (April 12) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Monday April 15 at 7pm.
Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace) tended an appointment at Dee Valley hospital with Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) on Friday’s streaming offering of Hollyoaks, learning that – much like the doc had suspected – she has an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
The news left Sally reeling, worried about what this meant for her future. ‘It hasn’t grown bigger between scans’, reassured Misbah, attempting to put her mind at rest.
‘Though you should be aware that in the future it can get bigger or perhaps even rupture, so you need to keep an eye out for any instances of back or abdominal pain.’
Sally wanted to know if she can have surgery to remove the aneurysm but Misbah said it wasn’t an option, adding that it will be something to discuss later down the line if it increases in size, though she warned that the procedure carries significant risks.
The news knocked former high school head teacher Sally for six and, despite informing Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) that she went to the hospital, she refrained from telling anyone about her aneurysm.
Misbah encouraged Sally to look after herself but, after some advice from Mercedes, Sally instead decides to live life to fullest.
Next week, the much-loved character crosses paths with Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins), and Lizzie Chen-Williams (Lily Best) encourages the two of them to set up dating profiles.
Sally, however, isn’t keen on the prospect of spending the day talking to strangers and therefore she spends with it Tom instead – and John Paul (James Sutton) later finds the two together on the sofa!
But things take a shocking turn, with Sally rushed to hospital once again. Will she be okay?
