The Holidays are coming, and for many, the famous Coca-Cola advert appearing on TV heralds the start of the festive season.

In fact, the brand’s advertising team helped create Santa as he is today: the jolly man with the white beard and rosy cheeks.

But now, Pepsi are attempting to get into the Christmas spirit, offering up a new festive flavour: Pepsi Zero Sugar Gingerbread.

The seasonal offering features warm and spicy flavours like cinnamon and ginger, brown sugar, and molasses.

A sort of spiced cola, if you will.

But perhaps unsurprisingly, the concoction has received mixed reviews online.

For some, Christmas and Pepsi is the combo they’ve been waiting for.

On X, user @wrymstar said: ‘That is going to be gloriously nasty. I must try it.’

While Jason Liebig on Instagram wrote: ‘Oh man, I need to get one of these!’

Others however, weren’t quite so convinced.

‘There is no chance that tastes good!’ wrote John Mancini on Instagram. And Linda Connelly said: ‘I’ll pass.’

X users have claimed it looks ‘gross’, ‘disgusting’ and ‘sounds terrible’. One person wrote: ‘Wow. Just no. That’s horrifying’.

And user @jessiangel143 wrote: ‘I just gagged thinking about this.’

The drink isn’t easy to get hold of though. Released December 4, shoppers can get a free can of the festive flavour when they purchase two Pepsi Minis10 packs via the TikTok shop, or enter for a chance to win in giveaways on Pepsi’s site from December 4 to 11.

It’s currently not clear whether the product is available to buy worldwide, or exclusively for USA customers.

And, while it might sound pretty sickly, it’s not the first drink of it’s kind on the market.

Back in August, Coca-Cola launched OREO Zero Sugar which received a similar mixed bag of reviews.

‘Not sure about this to be honest,’ said Connor Challis, as Chrysta Endersby wrote: ‘Sounds kinda gross…’

Some were excited to try it, saying they’d be ‘going on the hunt’ for it next month, but a few claimed the idea of it made them feel ‘sick’.

‘I feel physically sick thinking about this,’ admitted Wal LM, but Cory Walker thought it ‘could actually taste interesting’.
