TV fans from Britain are officially losing patience as they wait for one of the ‘best shows of 2025’ to have its UK premiere announced.

The Pitt, starring Noah Wyle, has been released to rave reviews in America, with the series currently boasting a Rotten Tomatoes score of 96%.

Following the work lives of the doctors and nurses at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital, each of The Pitt’s episodes takes place over one hour of a 15-hour shift.

The title of the series comes from the nickname given to the hospital, where Wyle’s character, Dr. Michael Robinavitch, works in the emergency department.

Each of the episodes is titled 7.00am, 8.00am, 9.00am and so on, with the final episode of the season – set to go out on April 10 – is titled 9.00pm.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the series has been praised for ‘setting the trials and tribulations of hospital life on a timer,’ as well as ‘combining multiple tried-and-true formulas to create a bracingly fresh medical drama.’

The series first started airing in America back in January of this year, with the first two episodes dropping on Max (formerly HBO Max) on January 9.

But with the first season about to reach its conclusion, TV fans in the UK are still waiting for a premiere date in this country, with some of them now getting impatient.

@MrsMintMav complained on X about the lack of a UK premiere: ‘Everyday that passes and The Pitt doesn’t have a UK broadcaster makes me less hopeful I will ever see it.’

@Rivertheles also worried that UK fans may never be able to watch it: ‘Everyone is hyping up The Pitt and it still doesn’t have a UK air date.’

@Milo_AFC was planning to watch the show via other, less legal means if the UK didn’t get a proper premiere date: ‘The Pitt still not having a UK broadcaster, let alone a release date, really wants to make me pirate this.’

@daryl_millar responded with a theory as to why it might be taking so long: ‘I assume any brand new Max series from now on will be held back until the streamer launches in the UK next year.’

The series also stars Taylor Dearden, Katherine La Nasa, Patrick Ball, Isa Brones, Tracy Ifeachor, Shabana Azeez, and Fiona Douriff, who play the rest of the featured staff at the titular hospital.

@Nieronlife celebrated the series, saying: ‘The Pitt on Max is the best show on TV right now. Maybe one of the best ever – it’s a masterclass in tension.’

@Smhrbst concurred: ‘The Pitt being both genuinely good and infinitely memeable – ohh, it’s gonna run for a thousand years.’

Max is the streaming service that hosts HBO content from America – in the UK, HBO shows are often streamed through the Sky Go app and Sky Atlantic channel.

VPN suppliers claim that Max currently doesn’t operate in the UK because the streamer’s parent company, Warner Bros, has licensing deals with Sky that are set to be in place until 2016.
