Greggs has announced another round of price hikes as we teeter on the edge of a global Greggcession.
The Steak Bake boom is over after the high street bakery revealed its popular three-item breakfast deal will rise by 20p, from £3.95 to £4.15.
The two-item breakfast deal will also go from £2.95 to £3.15 alongside price hikes for other British favourites.
The high street bakery chain’s chief executive, Roisin Currie, said the rises all coming in on Thursday were largely due to rising wages being baked into prices.

She said minimum wage rises and ‘surprise’ higher employers’ national insurance contributions cost the chain an extra £20m.
And prices could go even higher after Ms Currie admitted Greggs was working on more inflation projections and didn’t know about potential further national living wage rises.
‘We do our best to keep prices as low as possible,’ she added.

It came after it was revealed their classic sausage roll had increased in price by 30% since 2022, when it only cost £1.
The high street staple operates more than 3,000 stores across the country with 120 new shop openings expected this year.
On the upcoming November budget, Ms Currie said: ‘What’s not helpful are surprises.’
‘It’s tough out there,’ she said.
‘Even when people have disposable income, they’re saving and when they’re spending, they’re spending wisely.’
She noted that all other sweet items and bakes are not changing price.
In an effort to stamp out shoplifting, the bakery chain scrapped self-serve food and drinks in Whitechapel, Peckham and Ilford – locations it claims are ‘exposed to higher levels of anti-social behaviour’.
And while there are no current plans to make it a nationwide policy, it could be rolled out to sites where theft is especially prevalent.
Customers in affected branches will now have to ask staff for cold drinks, sandwiches, and other chilled items previously kept in fridges, but Greggs confirmed its full range of products will still be available.
