Scott Williams has warned his followers of the dangers of curling, having been left with a string of sore spots after trying the sport, including his penis.

Darts and curling doesn’t sound like a natural crossover and the world number 44 suggests the skillsets do not marry up.

The man known as Shaggy was over in Switzerland for an exhibition with fellow professionals Ricky Evans and Swiss star Stefan Bellmont.

While in Zurich, not a million miles from where the Winter Olympics are going on in Milan, Williams had a crack at one of the Games’ most popular event.

It does not sound like the arrow-slinger will be having another go on the ice any time soon, advising no one else to try their luck with the stones either.

‘I’m over in Zurich, doing an exhibition with Ricky Evans and Stefan Bellmont before the Players Championship next week,’ Williams said in a TikTok video.

‘We’re over here — it’s an absolutely delightful venue with delightful players.

‘But yesterday I experienced curling for the first time. Not hair curling, obviously, my hair is not long enough for that.

‘But curling that is going on in the Winter Olympics right now. As a large human being — a six-foot-four, without-the-heels-on human being — do not do it.

‘Do not curl. Do not do curling. Do not get stones. Don’t even think about it because it is the most ridiculous sport.

‘It’s the most painful sport I have ever experienced in my life and I don’t wish it upon anyone.

‘My legs hurt, my neck hurts, my penis hurts — that’s probably because I caught it in the zipper. But that’s a different story. Don’t curl.’

The 36-year-old won his opening games at Players Championships 1 and 2 earlier this week, but went out in the second round of both events.

He will be back in action in Wigan for Players Championships 3 and 4 on Monday and Tuesday.

His one Players Championship title win remains his shock success in 2022 when he landed an event in Niedernhausen, becoming just the third player ever to win a Players Championship without being a tour card holder.

One final and four semi-finals in the floor events last season, though, showed that he is not far away from another day in the sun.
