Zayn Malik has shared a photo from his hospital bed after a ‘long week’ of health woes, which forced him to cancel a show.

Just days ago, the former One Direction star had to pull out of a Q&A at Circuit, Kingston, with hours’ notice, citing illness.

The Monday, April 13 show has since been rescheduled to May 21 for devastated fans, who were looking forward to meeting him and hearing songs from his new record, Konnakol, which dropped today.

His message read at the time: ‘I’m really sorry, but unfortunately I am sick, and I won’t be able to make it to the UK this week as planned.

‘We’re already in the process of trying to reschedule the Banquet Q&A and will be sharing new dates soon.

‘Working on getting each of your info as well to send you something.’

Thanking fans for their ‘understanding and continued support’, Zayn signed off with ‘big love’, although annoyance followed from those who were excited about the event, some of whom flew over especially for it.

Many were also concerned, since the singer failed to share any further details on his sickness.

Now, the 33-year-old has given his 52.7million followers an update, posting a selfie of himself receiving treatment, surrounded by wires and hooked up to machines, one being a blood pressure monitor and another an ECG machine. Zayn expressed particular gratitude for the ‘cardiologists’ helping him.

He wrote on his Instagram Story tonight: ‘To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always – it’s been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering.

‘Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.’

Zayn added: ‘Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends!’

‘Big big love xx z’, he concluded.

While he didn’t divulge exact info about his condition, it is known that a cardiologist specialises in matters affecting the cardiovascular system, which includes the heart, veins, arteries, and capillaries.

Social media has since been flooded with well-wishes for the Dusk Till Dawn hitmaker.

‘Cardiologist??? Omg I hope he’s okay’, wrote @iamveronica777 on X.

‘We love you zayn. Speedy recovery x’, added @Mandy8688918081.

@28nicewaves urged him to ‘take all the time that is needed’, while @Stayystrongm said they were ‘so worried for him’.

Fans have also spent the day heaping praise on Zayn’s latest album, which marks his fifth as a solo artist and serves as the follow-up to Zayn’s 2024 album, Room Under the Stairs.

Featuring the singles Die for Me and Sideways, the record comes after the star’s seven-show residency at the Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he performed unreleased tracks for the first time.

He’s also set to embark on his biggest solo tour to date from May 12, kicking off a slew of 31 arena concerts at Manchester’s AO Arena.

Zayn will travel across the UK, North America, South America, and Mexico, finishing with a show on November 20 in Miami, Florida.

The tour marks a huge milestone for Zayn, who has spoken openly about his anxiety for a while, which has caused him to cancel high-profile appearances in the past, such as Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium.

‘I just couldn’t go through with it,’ Zayn previously wrote in his memoir about his debilitating mental health struggles and their impact on his showbiz career. ‘Mentally, the anxiety had won. Physically, I knew I couldn’t function. I would have to pull out.’

On his decision to go public with his anxiety at the time, he added: ‘One of my team members offered to write a statement saying that I’d been taken ill, but I didn’t want to do that. I was done with putting out statements that masked what was really going on. I wanted to tell the truth. Anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of; it affects millions of people every day.

‘I don’t want to say I’m sick. I want to tell people what’s going on, and I’m not gonna be ashamed of what’s happening.’
