Denise Richards has vowed to never watch her brief return to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, after things went ‘sideways’.
The Hollywood icon initially left the Bravo series in season 10, following Brandi Glanville’s claims that they had an affair – something she fiercely denied.
Fans were delighted when the 52-year-old appeared in the season 13 trailer, before popping up with Garcelle Beauvais at a ‘weed dinner party’ thrown by Kyle Richards.
However, the return didn’t quite go to plan as she attempted to reignite her feud with Erika Girardi before getting into a jacket fiasco with Dorit Kemsley.
Viewers watching on from home were left concerned when the Friends actress seemed incoherent in the footage.
Appearing on Bethenny Frankel’s Just B podcast, Denise took the opportunity to unpack the scenes, but admitted that she would not be tuning in herself.
‘I actually didn’t even watch the show…,’ she told the former Real Housewives of New York star.
‘I won’t even watch it because I’m sure I obviously made an ass out of myself. So I was like, why the hell am I going to watch myself like that?’
Reflecting on her appearance, Denise insisted that she hadn’t taken anything beforehand beside some cold medicine as she was ill, and had informed the producers that she wouldn’t be partaking in the weed dinner.
Although she wasn’t feeling 100%, the Wild Things star pushed through and arrived at Kyle’s home in good spirits, as she didn’t want to cancel and make it ‘a whole thing’.
‘I voiced that I do not do weed, I don’t do edibles, I don’t do any of that,’ she continued. ‘It doesn’t mix well with my body. I’ve tried weed twice – for the record – and I don’t like it.
‘I didn’t take anything, I had a drink before I went – I was nervous seeing the women – that was it.
‘I went sideways there and came home, and Aaron [Phypers, Denise’s husband] was like, “What is wrong with you?” And I go, “I don’t know.” I’ve never been like that in my life.’
‘In hindsight I shouldn’t have gone,’ she added. ‘Progressively, during the evening, I felt worse and worse. I just remember not half the night. It was bizarre.’
Denise announced her exit at the end of season 10, which aired in 2020 – after she found herself clashing with a string of her co-stars over Brandi’s allegations.
Despite the awkward scenes, she shared that she would return to RHOBH for another cameo if asked.
