Ariana Grande has announced her musical comeback and fans are, naturally, losing their minds.
The No Tears Left To Cry star has not released any solo music for three years, with her last track being Just Look Up from the Don’t Look Up soundtrack in 2021.
She also stormed the charts with Lady Gaga in their 2020 collaboration Rain On Me, but things have been pretty silent on the music front since then, as the Victorious star focused on her acting career.
Having wrapped filming on Wicked, where she met current boyfriend Ethan Slater after they separated from their respective spouses, Ariana is now preparing to return to music with a bang.
She announced on Sunday that a brand new track, titled yes, and? will be released very soon – this Friday to be exact, January 12.
The star shared the news with a post on Instagram to her 380 million followers, with a blurry close-up selfie as the album art, writing simply: ‘yes, and? 1.12.’
While Ariana’s announcement was low key, fans’ reactions were anything but.
They flocked to X in their droves celebrating Ariana’s return, with user Bunny writing: ‘Mother is back..It’s been soo long..I prayed for times like this..ARIANA IS BACK!!!’
‘WARRRR IS OVER. I SURVIVED THE ARIANA GRANDE DROUGHT,’ user Loveianguge wrote,’ while Simplykinsley said they were ‘feeling blessed and highly favored.’
Other reactions were similarly dramatic, with user Candice screaming: ‘ARIANA GRANDE IS BACK SHSIDIDHB AHHHHHHHHH!’
Danny said ‘POP MUSIC IS SAVEDDD LIKE EVERYONE CHEERED,’ and Nickianoo wrote ‘I CANT BELIEVE SHES REALLY BACK OMFGG.’
While Ariana has been quiet on the music front for years, she recently confirmed that she had returned to the studio to record new music, which could be here very soon.
Taking to Instagram, the Sam & Cat actress shared a round-up with fans, showing off a selection of polaroids, beauty products and musical moments – with the caption, ‘See you next year’.
In a video on the very last slide, Ariana could be seen lying down on a sofa under a comfy blanket, in fits of giggles.
‘Tell me exactly how you’re feeling,’ an unnamed man questioned from behind the camera. ‘Is this almost the last day of this album?’
‘I’m so tired,’ she said through uncontrollable laughter. ‘I’m so happy and grateful. I also feel like I weigh 3,000 tons. The idea of moving is impossible.’
