Celebrity Big Brother star Sam Fox has been charged over a reported ‘drunken bust-up’ after an incident in December.
The former model and singer, 57, will appear in court later this month.
Sam is said to have been drunk on a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Munich, and will face accusations of using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
According to reports, Sam – who starred on I’m A Celebrity in 2009 and on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016 – spent a night in a police cell after allegedly arguing with another passenger.
The Sun claims the flight was ready to depart, but passengers were forced to disembark as it was turned around, due to Munich airport’s early closing time.
Passengers are said to have been put up in a hotel for the night, and were able to fly the next day.
Sam will appear at Uxbridge magistrates’ court, West London, on March 22, after being charged by postal requisition.
The Met Police confirmed to Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘A woman has been charged in relation to an incident on a plane on Sunday, 3 December 2023.
‘Samantha Fox (15.04.66) of Waltham Forest, was charged via postal requisition with a public order offence (S4a) and being drunk on an aircraft.
‘She will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 22 March.’
The statement added: ‘Officers at Heathrow Airport were called at 20:57hrs on Sunday, 3 December 2023 to a report of an assault on an outbound plane.
‘The plane returned to the terminal and a woman, aged in her 50s, was arrested on suspicion of assault and being drunk onboard an aircraft.’
The claims come after the tragic news that Sam’s sister Vanessa died aged 50 from a heart attack last year.
The Touch Me singer was said to be ‘beside herself’ at the heartbreaking news, as she was particularly close to her younger sister, whose death came after Sam’s partner Myra Stratton died of cancer in 2015.
Sam had spoken about her grief after Stratton’s death just months before, telling MailOnline: ‘When my ex-partner died, I was with her for 16 years and that’s a long, long time.
‘For two years, I couldn’t write a lyric. I just couldn’t write because everything I was writing was very sad and I didn’t want to show people I was in that sad place.
‘It was very hard for me to actually release anything at that time and go on stage and pretend to be happy. I was quite sad but time is a healer and then I met Linda.’
Sam and Linda tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony in Epping Forest, Essex in 2022.
They got engaged in March 2020, with a rep for the star saying at the time: ‘Sam and Linda are so happy together and want to spend the rest of their lives together. They’re so in love and want to make it official.’
Metro.co.uk has approached Sam Fox’s reps for comment.
