A self-proclaimed ‘psychic healer’ who was fined after he said he could cure cancer is charging £900 for Scots to visit him.
Jerry Sargeant, who is hosting a seminar called Star Magic Healing, has been accused of putting sick and vulnerable people at risk.
He said he discovered the gift of healing after meeting aliens in a car crash.
Now he is charging Edinburgh residents £900 to treat their ‘trauma and disease’.
This includes ‘group healing’ sessions, charging one six-hour workshop or £888 for two.
Footage of his previous seminars show Sargeant laying his hands on people’s heads while they shake and convulse.
Professor Edzard Ernst. tje UK’s first professor of alternative medicine, warned those with serious illnesses to stay away from ‘healers’.
He said: ‘The worse our NHS provision becomes, the more desperate patients would consider using healing or other forms of quackery.
‘The danger is that seriously ill patients might trust the claims of the healer and forfeit or take less seriously effective therapies for their condition.’
Sargeant was ordered to pay £4747.25 in 2017 after concerns were raisedabout claims made on his website he could cure cancer.
His UK company was dissolved the same year, but he ahs continued to offer healing sessions in the US and online.
Other services include ‘DNA upgrades which change karmic blueprint’ and the use of ‘quantum physics to release blocks’ which ar epreventing clients from living ‘extraordinary lives’.
Although the website now carries a disclaimer, multiple testimonials include claims Sargeant has helped cure life-threatening conditions.
