EastEnders’ Ravi Gulati’s (Aaron Thiara) life is falling a part as fast as his gloriously shiny man-bun, as the tortured bad boy continues to suffer the consequences of the drug ring that destroyed the lives of a number of Walford Residents.
Ravi’s burgeoning narcotic and exploitation racket swallowed vulnerable Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) and Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) whole and things only continued to get worse when Ravi handed control of the operation over to his incredibly dangerous lieutenant, Okie Okyere (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu).
He essentially handed a can of gasoline to a pyromaniac.
As the ring collapsed after Kojo and Harry’s escape, Ravi found himself hauled in front of the police and, in a bid to escape jail, made a deal: he’d become an informant in exchange for his freedom. Going against all of his ‘gangster’ sensibilities to turn ‘grass’ didn’t immediately pay dividends, though, as his family were all but finished with him.
His beloved Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) was horrified, especially after he’d previously promised to leave his criminal ways behind, while his kids, Avani (Aaliyah James) and Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) were disgusted.

Hiding out to ensure his families safety, Ravi returned home to his forgiving family, but found himself the focus of a revenge plot by Harry and Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington).
Harry had been forced to consume drugs while held captive by Okie and eventually accidentally killed him, leading to his dad, Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian), taking the fall and being sentenced to life in prison. All in all, the Mitchells (quite understandably) wanted their pound of flesh from Ravi.
Not literally, though what they actually did was arguably worse.
Nicola spiked Ravi’s drink with drugs, determined for him to suffer the way that Harry had. Ravi was soon plagued by terrifying visions of his evil (but dead) dad, Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry). As he lashed out in a drug-fuelled haze, he woke up to discover that the person on the receiving end of the battering was his own boy, Nugget.
Barely able to look his suffering son in the eye, Ravi turned to self harm as his mental state continued to deteriorate. He’s continued to struggle as his loyalty to his family and his job as an informant tear him in two.

After Nugget’s seizure in yesterdays episode, today saw him rushed to hospital, with a doctor confirming that they believe his seizure was epileptic and related to his recent (daddy induced) head trauma. While Priya attempted to remain strong, Ravi crumbled and, after she demanded that he ‘man up’, he retreated back to the Square.
Priya, babe, come on. We’re willing to forgive you due to the situation, but that phrase is so icky!

Finding himself sinking liquor in Harry’s Barn, Ravi’s attention is grabbed when a group of odious men begin to harass Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams). When the lead swine makes a racist comment, Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) also steps forward and, before fists are thrown, Nicola throws the gross menfolk out.
Unfortunately, they didn’t go far after being booted out, and they lay in wait, pouncing on Mark when he exits. With Ravi following behind, he helps Mark in seeing off the men, thus winning his loyalty after their frosty job yesterday.
Convinced that Ravi can be trusted, Mark reveals to him that he’s in search of the grass that’s double crossing his gang, before telling his new best friend that they’ll work together to find him. What Mark doesn’t know is that the grass is standing directly in front of him and gulping incredibly hard over the situation he now finds himself in.

As Mark peels away, ringing his shadowy gangster overload to reaffirm that Ravi can be trusted, the gang of awful men appear again, this time armed with weapons. In what seemed like a new method of self harm, Ravi willingly walked into the centre of their circle and let them beat seven shades out of him.
Returning to the hospital beaten, bloodied and battered and learning that the doctors suspect that Nugget has developed epilepsy, he held his children close, explaining that his mashed-up face was as a result of tracking down the man that attacked Ravi and battering him.
As Priya chased him outside of Nugget’s room, in the full knowledge that Ravi himself had hurt Nugget, she accused him of still being neck-deep in Walford’s (apparently sprawling) gangland. Reminding him that his continued inclusion in their family is hanging on by a thread, Priya demanded answers.
And she certainly didn’t expect the one she received, when Ravi admitted that he’s a grass.
As Ravi’s downfall continues, will he lose everyone he loves along the way? Clearly in deep psychological pain, will there be anything left of Ravi to save?
